What war am I talking about? "The War Within The States". It is the war between two different versions of the United States Of America.
On one side you have the group currently in charge. They are the collectivists, the believers in an all-powerful government. They believe all wealth and decisions are best placed in the hands of a select few who know better than you how to live your lives. They are also the voters who vote for these people. These voters like the idea of a nanny state. They want to give up their freedom for security. So, you have the ruling "elite" and their willing serfs that make up one side of the war.
On the other side you have those that believe in the Jefferson statement that "That government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves.", or in Washington's statement of "Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action".
In a nutshell, those are the two sides. YOU CANNOT SIT ON THE FENCE IN THIS WAR. If you try, you will fall into the collectivist side, whether you like it or not.
This is not a racial, gender or socio-economic struggle. Your color doesn't matter, your sex doesn't matter, and your current economic level doesn't matter. Your beliefs and attitude matter. Do you love freedom, liberty and personal responsibility? Then you are on my side.
We can win this war. Not by bullets or riots, but by ballots and emails. Don't be quiet or think you don't matter. Pester the hell out of your representatives - at all levels, run for office or help a like-minded freedom-lover to run. Don't be quiet at that get-together where liberals think everyone there thinks as they do. Speak up, you might be surprised.
Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.
Edmund Burke
Bottom line - this is a civil war for the control of our country. Fight like you believe it!
Right on! This post was great. The leaders of this country are driven by power plays and under the table deals. They work in conjunction with the media to create “smoke screen” issues such as Blacks vs. Whites, Gays vs. Christians, etc to distract and confuse citizens. And as the citizens sit and contemplate their own stances on these issues (because the news and media sources were telling them it was important), the elected people used the distractions as a smoke screen to take our freedoms and strip us of our rights. Now, we are ruled by overlords whose goals are to oppress the people and keep them from rising to their greatness. The government is supposed to be the subject of the people, not the other way around.
"Individual liberty is individual power, and as the power of a community is a mass compounded of individual powers, the nation which enjoys the most freedom must necessarily be in proportion to its numbers the most powerful nation."
- John Quincy Adams
Without a group loud of voices, our individual protests will be silenced. A message must be sent to Washington, just as our founding father’s sent a message to Brtitain. In Mike Morris’ article, The Total Collapse of America he calls to America to “draw their line in the sand and realize that the ‘Brtish’ are already here kicking down our doors.” He goes on to say that the government has used to tool of fear to to make the American people cower down. Each of us must get involved and take a stand against those that take advantage of their powers. They laugh in our faces knowing that we will do nothing about it. Each day, the people of this nation are growing more aware at the back handedness and corruption that goes on. Changes can be made. The government leaders use of fear should also be used on the government:
"Fear that if need be we will drag the criminals from the office if we have the courage to do so, fear that if change is not immediate, a new Declaration of Independence (or in this case a Divorce Decree) leaving the debt and issues that have been orchestrated for personal profit in the hands of those debt creators. Fear that Americans have finally grown a backbone unafraid to stand up to anyone in our Government and the greatest fear of all that those entrusted with power WILL be held accountable for their actions." (Total Collapse of America article)
We all scoff and laugh that the government is corrupt. We must open our eyes and see how these leaders have tainted and stomped over our rights and freedoms. Yet they are the ones holding your freedoms, and your children’s freedoms in there fists all the while squeezing the life out of it.

Great comment, Tess! The government SHOULD be in constant fear of the people. It would keep them honest. Today it is the other way around.
