So, Obama is going to officially kill the Keystone Pipeline project.  Wonderful.  Now all that oil that we can use will go to China.

There is absolutely NO excuse not to allow this project to go full steam ahead.  NONE!

This Obama continues to destroy this country at a pace that is amazing.

Canadian Oil Probably Will Go To China

Obama, and the rest of his administration, has absolutely no intention of doing anything to increase our ability to obtain local oil or gas.  He has stalled the Keystone Pipeline that would bring a LOT(!) of oil to the USA from Canada. 

Well, Canada knows this.  Read and weep:

"Prime Minister Stephen Harper will travel to China next month to discuss selling Canada's bounty to the rapidly growing nation.

The preferred initial plan was to build the $7 billion Keystone pipeline to deliver Alberta's oilsands crude to refineries in Texas on the Gulf of Mexico."

In a sane world, the USA would have leaped on this oil and done everything to get it to our refining plants.  But we no longer live in a sane world. 

So, next time you see the price of gas go up at the pump, thank Obama and his fellow idiots.  I'm sure the Chinese will be thanking Obama for his actions.

 

Another (!) Energy Source Blocked

What the Hell is it with this jackass in the White House?  Right on the heels of delaying the Keystone pipeline, which would have created tons of jobs and provided decades of oil, Obama now goes and blocks the development of shale natural gas in the Ohio/Pennsylvania region.  (That is a region that could use some jobs, you know.)

Obama USDA delays shale drilling, up to 200k jobs

"President Obama's United States Department of Agriculture has delayed shale gas drilling in Ohio for up to six months by cancelling a mineral lease auction for Wayne National Forest (WNF). The move was taken in deference to environmentalists, on the pretext of studying the effects of hydraulic fracturing."

These "delays" and "studies" are nothing more than cowardly ways to KILL these projects.

So, together with the Keystone Project, we have the Obama administration destroying several hundred thousand jobs, keeping massive amounts of oil and gas unavailable for extraction and use, and keeping us dependent on world oil markets and gas prices high. 

It appears to me that if anything hurts the USA, Obama is for it.  If it helps the USA, Obama is against it.

And some people want to re-elect this fool next November.  Idiots.

Obama Pipeline Idiocy

We have an incredibly volatile Middle East right now.  The same region where the world gets most of its oil.  We get some of our from there, but not as much as we used to.  Still, oil is fungible so it really doesn't matter where it comes from, it is really all part of the same pot of oil.

We have the opportunity to really boost our regional supply of oil very quickly.  Canada is going gangbusters in Alberta tapping into Canadian oil.  The oil industry wants to build a pipeline to route this oil to the USA.  Obama and the environmentalist idiots are blocking it.

Obama Administration May Put Off Keystone Pipeline Decision With New Environmental Impact Study

"The source told Fox News that the Obama administration is considering much more than a simple reroute of the Keystone XL project. Instead, 11th hour deliberations are weighing whether to order the State Department to conduct an all-new Environmental Impact Study, which could delay a final decision by two years, well beyond the next presidential election, if not end it altogether."

This would effectively kill the pipeline.  And want to know where the oil goes then?  Canada has already said they cannot wait long and, if necessary, the pipeline will go to their west coast to load tankers to CHINA!

This is absolutely insane.  We have a chance to drastically improve our regional oil supply and the idiots in D.C. are blowing it.  Simply disgusting, yet totally predictable.

 

Real Hope Is Possible - Energy

I've read a few places that while 20 years ago we only produced about 50% of our energy needs, today, in just the last few years, we are up to over 70%.  NO THANKS TO THE GOVERNMENT!  All due to new technology put in place by PRIVATE INDUSTRY on newly discovered oil and gas fields, or older fields that are now feasible.  This is big stuff!

This improvement in supplying our own energy is despite constant obstacles put in place by the federal government.  If the federal government would get the hell out of the way there is real hope, real hope, for our future as far as energy is concerned.  We could quickly become energy independent.  We have massive energy deposits all over the country that the government will not allow to be tapped.

You want real hope?  It is there.  Vote wisely next November.

I Just Mentioned Stupidity And Guess What?

I had just told you to expect more stupidity from the Ruling Class, that would be the government in D.C., and its minions.  Then I stumble across this article:

Energy in America: Keystone XL's Oil Sands Pipeline Up in the Air

Just read these highlights and cry a little:

"TransCanada wants to build a 2,000-mile pipeline from the oil sands of Alberta to refineries in Texas, known as the Keystone XL.

While supporters say it would create up to 20,000 construction jobs, generate tens of billions of dollars a year in tax revenue and improve energy security, opponents argue it would harm the environment and feed the nation’s addiction to oil.

Before TransCanada can build the new pipeline, it needs approval from the U.S. State Department.

“We’re ready to build this pipeline,” Robert Jones of TransCanada said, “to create tens of thousands of direct jobs.”

The State Department issued its Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement in April citing the benefits of the project and its “limited impact” on the environment.

But in June the Environmental Protection Agency wrote the State Department a letter criticizing the review as “inadequate” because “significant impacts were not evaluated.”

Among the EPA’s concerns: Spill impacts, greenhouse gases and the pipeline route that goes right through a critical aquifer in Nebraska, including the Ogallala Aquifer that serves 30 percent of the nation’s agriculture."

We have a ready, willing and able source of oil right over the border in Canada that will send almost a million barrels a day(!) to Texas for refining and our idiotic, stupid government is killing it.  Tens of thousands of jobs, billions in revenue, very little real environmental risk at a time our economy is in the toilet.

Makes you want to throw up at the stupidity.

Oh, and if we don't take this opportunity?:

"Alberta’s Energy Minister, Ron Liepert, says oil sands production is ramping way up as the price of crude remains high.

“I can assure that if the United States feels the TransCanada pipeline is not important to get oil to the Gulf Coast,” Liepert said, “there are other markets in the world."

This is just too much.

Why Nothing Will Be Done About "Energy Independence" With Obama in Charge

Alberta, Canada has enormous reserves of oil locked up in oil shale.  They have gotten real good at extracting this oil over the years.  (We also have oil shale and sands but the U.S. government has really slowed our side down.)

I found this article, Obama Losing Canada's Oil to China, which describes our idiocy in not working with Canada to get this oil headed to the USA.

"The Canadian province of Alberta has the world’s third-largest oil reserves after Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, and more than Russia or Iran. Daily production from oil sands is expected to rise from 1.5 million barrels today to 3.7 million in 2025.

Delivering the oil will mean building two pipelines, one south to the refineries on the Texas Gulf Coast and the other west toward the Pacific, where it can be exported to China.

If the United States doesn’t approve its pipeline promptly due to environmental concerns, “Canada might increasingly look to China, thinking America doesn’t want a big stake in what environmentalists call ‘dirty oil,’ which they say increases greenhouse gas emissions,” according to a report from The Associated Press."

Once again, environmentalists try and crush energy production.

"And a report commissioned by the Obama administration suggests that the pipeline to Texas, along with a reduction in overall U.S. oil demand, “could essentially eliminate Middle East crude imports long term.”

The State Department, which must approve the pipeline, has promised a decision by the end of the year, although Republicans wants it sooner."

We could eliminate imports from the middle east!!!!!!!!!!!!  We NEED this approved ASAP for our own security.  The Obama administration is delaying what should be a "no-brainer" for no good reason, other than his obvious hatred of our country.

Until Obama is gone and the Senate spits out the democrats, nothing will be done to promote a safe, secure supply of oil.

You Really Need To Get Your Affairs in Order & Some Solutions

Something wicked this way comes. 

Just read the news, particularly the news out of Washington, D.C.  It is very apparent that neither the democrats or republicans are the slightest bit serious about tackling our debt/deficit nightmare.  The latest budget "compromise" turns out to have been almost pure smoke and mirrors.  Not even a "good start" anymore.  The economy is in a mess and not getting better. 

Fill up your car or truck lately?  Yeah, I know.  And it is just going to get worse.

Like your house?  Good, because you are probably stuck in it for the next decade or so.  Oh, and you are probably now "underwater" on you mortgage, too.  And prices are STILL headed down.

I could go on and on, but you get the point.  Do not look for any help from the federal government.  In fact, go on the assumption that everything they tell you is a lie! 

Look at yourself and ask what can I do to get through the next year, or more, if everything just goes down the toilet.  Then do it.  Get you own house/family in order and you will be light years ahead of 90% of the people out there with their heads still in the sand.

What is so infuriating about all of this mess is that the solutions are simple.  Not easy, but simple.

Solutions:

Our debt - Don't spend more than you take in.  Spend a bit less and use that extra to pay down the existing debt.  Simple.  (It will also not happen with the current crop of maggots in D.C.)

Taxes - Cut taxes for everyone.  Yes, it does bring in more revenue, not less.  Look it up.  (The Fair Tax is the real solution, but it takes power away from the federal government, so it will never happen under our current crop of vermin.)

Jobs - Seal the border.  Imprison the executives of any company knowingly hiring illegal aliens.  This includes the big assholes at Tyson Food, or other friends of Obama.  Heavily fine these companies so the shareholders feel the pain.

Gas prices - Drill, extract, refine every form of fossil fuel in USA territory.  Build new nuclear reactors, but not on faults lines, please.  This will create jobs, lower energy/gas prices, and lower the price of everything made from oil, which is a lot of stuff.

Houses - Start prosecuting the bank officials that sold low quality mortgage as high quality investments.  Prosecute the people and banks that have caused the title crisis across the country.  Let the housing market crash now.  Do not prop up the housing market or the banks.   It will be very painful, but the poison will be drained from the body and healing can begin.

Bailouts - No more bailout for anyone - EVER.

See, simple.  And just a start, really.  None of it will happen, though, so get your affairs on order and make sure you and your family are as ready as possible for the evil coming our way.

Gas Prices/USA Supply

Simple observation:

Gas prices are going through the roof and the price of everything tied to oil is going up, up, up.

We are more dependent on foreign fossil fuel than ever before and our sources of supply mostly hate us.

We sit on more fossil fuel in various forms than any other country on earth.

I wish there was something we could do to reduce our dependence on these foreign supplies while maintaining our capacity for a solid growing advanced economy.

Obama's Advice For High Gas Prices

As reported by the AP in Fairless Hills, PA:

Obama needled one questioner who asked about gas prices, now averaging close to $3.70 a gallon nationwide, and suggested that the gentleman consider getting rid of his gas-guzzling vehicle.

"If you're complaining about the price of gas and you're only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know," Obama said laughingly. "You might want to think about a trade-in."

Why, thank you for that wonderful advice President Feckless.

I happen to have a 13 year old SUV that only gets about 15 mpg.  Wanna know why I don't trade it in for a snazzy new deathtrap that gets 35 mpg?  Cause I can't afford it, asshole!  This vehicle is paid for.  Sure, it is banged up, dented, peeling paint, the door latch on the driver's door doesn't unlock too easily and the windshield is nicked in about a dozen places, but it is PAID FOR!  I cannot afford a new, or even an older used car!

Hey, I have an idea!  Instead of buying oil from Brazil years from now, how about we drill for our own freakin' oil, you idiot.  Open up all those locked up federal land and dig, drill and refine.  That will at least let me put gas in the thing.

UPDATE:  Incredible!  That quote I showed above has been SCRUBBED from the original AP story.  Wow!  Talk about a "memory hole" moment.  I guess they saw it put Obama in an unfavorable light. so, carrying his water as they do, they threw that quote down the memory hole, just like in 1984.
