This video is from Bill Whittle and speaks about what money is spent to buy votes. It is also an excellent lesson on government revenue vs. government spending.

I read too much news. It is depressing most of the time. Every day you read about people trying to control other people, mostly through the threat of force. I realize that has been the way of human life since we appeared on this planet. Life was short, hard, and brutal.
But a few hundred years ago an incredible collection of men came together and brought forth a new way of existence. Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, Jay, and other giants drew up a document that would create the greatest, most free, most powerful nation to ever exist on this planet. Perfect? Of course not. But the best structure to ever exist to-date.
Why so great? Because it recognized that people are born with a creator-given right to life, liberty and property. Not government-given! Every person born on this planet is an individual with all the rights mentioned above. It is government that has taken them away over our history.
As Jefferson warned us, the tendency of government is to grow and freedom diminish. That has happened to the USA. We are no longer free. We may be "more free" than most other countries, by we are definitely not as free as we used to be.
This makes me angry. (An angry white male! Uh oh! Notify the Gestapo, um, I mean Homeland Security.)
What also angers me is that voters have forgotten that the Constitution was written to strictly limit the power of the Federal government. My, how times have changed. We have become a nation of freeloaders and babies incapable of standing on our own two feet. Freedom? Too scary. We vote for servitude instead.
I want to live my life based on my natural rights. As long as my choices do not take away the rights of another person, leave me the hell alone. It is MY life to live, not yours to govern.

Just saw this political ad by way of The Jawa Report. This woman is running for Congress in Utah as a Conservative. This commercial makes me almost want to move to Utah so I can vote FOR her!
As you can see, she also happens to be black. But guess what? Freedom-loving conservatives don't care about the color of one's skin. It is the content of her character and her beliefs that matter. Go figure.
Real Americans come in ALL colors and persuasions.

I just read this morning that Ann Barnhardt, the firecracker hedge broker is calling it quits. After the corruption revealed by the MF Global collapse, along with her correct take on the crminals in D.C., she wrote that she can no longer conduct her business and guarantee the safety of her customers' money. So, she is closing up shop.
"It is with regret and unflinching moral certainty that I announce that Barnhardt Capital Management has ceased operations. After six years of operating as an independent introducing brokerage, and eight years of employment as a broker before that, I found myself, this morning, for the first time since I was 20 years old, watching the futures and options markets open not as a participant, but as a mere spectator.
The reason for my decision to pull the plug was excruciatingly simple: I could no longer tell my clients that their monies and positions were safe in the futures and options markets – because they are not. And this goes not just for my clients, but for every futures and options account in the United States. The entire system has been utterly destroyed by the MF Global collapse. Given this sad reality, I could not in good conscience take one more step as a commodity broker, soliciting trades that I knew were unsafe or holding funds that I knew to be in jeopardy.
.....
Finally, I will not, under any circumstance, consider reforming and re-opening Barnhardt Capital Management, or any other iteration of a brokerage business, until Barack Obama has been removed from office AND the government of the United States has been sufficiently reformed and repopulated so as to engender my total and complete confidence in the government, its adherence to and enforcement of the rule of law, and in its competent and just regulatory oversight of any commodities markets that may reform. So long as the government remains criminal, it would serve no purpose whatsoever to attempt to rebuild the futures industry or my firm, because in a lawless environment, the same thievery and fraud would simply happen again, and the criminals would go unpunished, sheltered by the criminal oligarchy."
I like her. No nonsense, no bull. She is putting her money where her mouth is. It will be interesting to see the reaction to her announcement
Our government is broken and corrupt and completely untrustworthy.

Geez! Enough of this garbage from the liberals and Obama about Washington striving to create jobs by throwing money all over the place. (Money we do not have, by the way.) Washington does not create jobs! OK! People and businesses create jobs by provided useful services and products to each other and hiring people to do those jobs. End of story.
All Washington does is put up roadblocks and charge tolls for anyone who wants to hire people. The "jobs" created by government are not productive jobs, they are "costs". We need some government jobs. I figure about 10% of the current amount would suffice in non-military functions. Every government job is a drain on the productive sector - EVERY ONE.
Washington should not be concerned with creating jobs. They should be concerned about creating an atmosphere where people and business create jobs. Washington can do this by getting the hell out of the way, reducing the amount of regulation, taxes, welfare, etc. Minimal government, minimal taxes, minimal regulation, minimal welfare - that is what D.C. should work towards.

What is the main reason for all the troubles we face in the USA, and what citizens all over the world face?
GOVERNMENT!
I don't care what sort of government you have, communist, socialist, crony-capitalism(USA), whatever. Virtually all problems can be traced to the impact of government once it goes beyond the very minimal duties required of it. Even our Constitutional system, which was as close to as perfect a system as the world have ever seen, was almost immediately under attack by the very people who wrote it.
Government does one thing - control. Under its control it forces private citizens to hand over money or assets to a central authority at the point of a gun, federal state and local. The central authority then spends this wealth as it sees fit. Over time the central authority grows and grows. It never willingly shrinks. After it gets the money it goes on to rules and regulations.
As government takes more control of the economy things deteriorate. Government produces nothing, it only consumes. It is a dead weight, a drag on the economy.
In the USA we started off with a relatively "clean slate" after much sacrifice. We have lost freedoms ever since. Now we are at the point where government is so massive and so powerful that the individual is lost. Don't believe me? Today, as you go through you day, pay attention to all the rules and regulations you have to comply with, how much you pay in taxes on everything you buy and any money you make. Then tell me you are free.
Damn, depressing post. But all of it true.

I fully expect the republicans to cave and raise the debt ceiling. No surprise there.
But, once a gain, there is not an automatic default if we do not raise the debt ceiling!
There is plenty of revenue to pay our interest obligations. What is happening is the federal government is a heroin addict begging for "just one more fix then I'll stop. I promise!". The longer this goes on the worse the "crash" will be.
The time to stop is now. I think if the markets see we are serious about our debt and deficits, we might get more time to correct our horrible mistakes.
Nah, who am I kidding. We're talking about politicians doing the right thing. Never happen.

I have been reading for several months now about a very disturbing trend. I am referring to the almost daily news of mobs of young blacks, both male and female, attacking whites, asians, hispanics, other blacks, as well as flash mobs robbing stores.
Here is the latest - Flynn calls looting, beatings in Riverwest barbaric
"Perry was among several who were injured by a mob they said beat and robbed them and threw full beer bottles while making racial taunts. The injured people were white; the attackers were African-American, witnesses said.
Store video of the BP station at E. North Ave. and N. Humboldt Blvd. shows the business being ransacked. A clerk at BP confirmed to the Journal Sentinel that he was busy waiting on customers when one or two people held the door open to let others rush in and steal snacks and candy."
Burger King, McDonald's, convenience store flask mobs, etc. Every one I have read about has been gangs of young blacks.
I would ask what the hell is going on in the black community, but I know the answer. It is the culmination of 50 years of liberal policies which have treated blacks as inferior, idiots incapable of being successful, independent, productive citizens. Liberal policies have destroyed the black family. Single moms with kids by multiple fathers let their kids run wild. There is almost no strong parental control, and virtually no good male role models. This is the natural result.
I do NOT believe the black race is inferior to any other race. We are all the same under the skin as far a biology goes. I do believe some cultures are inferior to others, so I guess I'm more of a bigot in regard to cultures.
When I interact with an individual of any race I see an person who deserves to be treated with respect and dignity unless they prove otherwise.
I expect more of these mobs to appear throughout the country. It is not politically correct to mention when blacks do bad things so nothing will be done. When you won't discuss what is going on in front of your eyes for fear of political correctness, nothing CAN be done.
So, for now, at the risk of being slammed as a racist, I tell my family that if they see a group of young blacks to quickly, QUICKLY, get the hell out of there. If groups of any other "color" start these flash mobs I will add that group to the list, as well.
My family's safety will not be trumped by being politically correct.

As you all know, Jews and Blacks vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. Doesn't matter if the Democrat is a corrupt, moronic piece of filth, these two groups will vote for that person almost without fail.
I've seen the numbers of 95% for blacks and 87% for Jews. I've always been amazed by these figures. Democrats have done more to destroy the Black Middle Class and Black Family, as well as upward mobility than anyone else. Democrats have been the enemy of Israel for decades, and Obama OPENLY favors the muslims over Israel in the Middle East. Democrats also demonize success and American Jews have been VERY successful.
Baffling, at least to me.
But I see cracks forming. I see a lot more Black conservatives "coming out" and taking the slings and arrows of other Blacks calling them Oreo's and worse. I see Obama flailing over his comments on Israel's borders. (The cracks are less visible in the Jewish community, but they are still there.) Little cracks here and there.
Maybe, just maybe. these small cracks will grow and Blacks and Jews will stop voting as monolithic blocks and start voting as free individuals. Freedom and personal responsibility go hand-in-hand and eventually lead to real prosperity for all. It will take some real education and advertising on the part of the idiot Republicans to drive these points home, and, frankly, I'm not sure they are capable of it. But the blogs are.
We have until November 2012 to reach out and convert as many Blacks, Jews, and even Union members as possible to vote for Republicans. Start now!
P.S. I do not like writing about "groups" of people since each person is an individual with natural rights, but, face it, in this case those voting percentages warrant it.

Saw a post about what would happen during a so-called government shutdown. The article written by James Simpson is:
Looming government shutdown anarchy?
Here are my favorite two paragraphs:
Let me be absolutely clear here. There will be no disruption in Social Security, welfare, civil service retirement, or any other kind of open-ended mandatory program payments. The mail will not stop because the Post Office is largely self-funding (with you know, those stamps you buy to mail things with). Air traffic controllers will not go on furlough, jets will keep flying, the Border Patrol will keep on attempting to secure the border that Janet Napolitano wants unsecured, and our military will stay in the fight, however poorly and treasonously led by the current Commander-in-Chief.
Will there be adverse effects? Absolutely. We are talking about a government shutdown. But they are not the dire consequences Democrats are hyping. The only people who will really notice the government shutdown are government workers themselves, and most importantly, Congressional Democrats.
I say shut down the government. The Republicans should scream from the top of the Washington Monument that the reason for the shutdown is the DEMOCRATS AND OBAMA refusing to even begin to spend less money. The Republicans need to educate the American Idol crowd about the looming financial disaster and how this pathetically little $61 Billion in cuts is only the beginning.
Of course, given the historical idiocy and incompetence of the Republicans, that may be hoping for too much.
So, make some popcorn, grab a soda and watch D.C. go ballistic.
Oh yea, make sure your preps are progressing nicely.
